White Lake Whalebots and CodeSharks competed at the Grandville Tournament with 42 other teams in the First Lego League competition. FLL competitions consist of 4 parts that are scored by judges: robot build and programming; missions completed in 2 1/2 minutes; teamwork challenge; and research project and innovative solution. Both teams worked hard during the season and that hard work paid off. Code Sharks succeeded in completing all of their planned missions in round 1 and scored the highest score of all the rookie teams in that round. The Whalebots took home the first place trophy in research/innovation solution. The judges were impressed with their innovative "Mealwormia Diner" styrofoam composter and their mealworm farm to raise mealworms for the composter. Good job Whalebots and Code Sharks!
