Oehrli 4th and 5th graders practiced their coding skills with some different kinds of robots borrowed from the MAISD. We started out with Ozobots, small robots that can be coded on paper, on an ipad, or on a computer. Students learned how to break a complex task into several smaller simpler tasks. They also learned to debug programs when they found a problem. We also had fun learning how to program the Dash and Dot robots to move and to sense the environment around them with their built in sensors. We even programmed our robots to tell jokes! We will be doing coding activities with all grade levels during Hour of Code which is during the first week of December.
