Third graders have finished their Stepping Up Comics. They planned their comic on paper first, making sure it had a beginning, middle, and end. Then they used a free online comic maker called Make Belief Comics (http://www.makebeliefscomix.com) to create the background and characters to go with their story. Enjoy some samples of their work!
Second graders listened to a presentation from the road commission about ways to stay safe in the winter. One of the technology goals for students is to use a digital tool to make something from information that I have learned. We brainstormed tips that we could use from the presentation to use to create a poster showing a snowplow or winter safety tip. Students explored some of the basic draw tools in Microsoft Paint and used these to write their safety tip and draw a picture to go with it. Enjoy the samples below: Students in the Lego Robotics class have been learning some basic programming . Each team of students is programming their robot to complete small challenges such as moving to a certain destination, backing up, displaying sights and sounds and moving in a figure eight. Once we have mastered these basic moving skills, we will be programming the robots to respond to their environment using sensors. |
